Cycling Club Info
MFrom its opening day in 1997, the Porcupine Pub & Grille has made giving back a priority. In 2000 the restaurant’s management wanted to do more, and realized that with their proximity to the Cottonwood Canyons, which offer some of the most scenic and abundant cycling, they could do so in a unique and enjoyable way.
In 2000 the Porcupine Cycling Club and Race Team was formed, since then it has become Utah’s shining example of a cycling club
that truly gives back.
In keeping with our title sponsor’s mission, Porcupine Cycling has a deep commitment to community involvement and advocacy. The club sponsors an annual race (The Porcupine Hill Climb) that has successfully raised over 70,000 dollars for cancer research over the last ten years. The Porcupine Hill Climb continues to be one of the most popular regional events, drawing a wide range of participants (both citizens and licensed racers) not normally found at the typical race series events.
In addition to the Hill Climb, the club and team regularly participate in such community advocacy groups as The Bikes for Kids charity event, the MS 150 charity ride, the Little Red Riding Hood charity ride, LOTOJA (Logan to Jackson) and other community events and charities.
Porcupine Cycling supports competitive road, mountain and triathlon race teams, but also provides support, group rides, club activities and friendship to recreational cyclists, “weekend warrior” racers and tri-athletes.
The club has approximately 100+ members that proudly wear the clubs clothing while riding and racing. We are all proud to be a part of this wonderful cycling club. Please feel free to learn more about our sponsors and those who we partner with during our Rocky Mountaint Cycling endevours.
